CHINESE viewers will be the first to see the next round of ads promoting Australia to the world, as the government tries to woo the fastest-growing source of inbound tourists. China’s Q1 tourism revenues rise 23 pct

China’s tourism revenues rose 22.9 percent to 646.8 billion yuan (102.67 billion U.S. dollars) during the first quarter of 2012, a senior official said Friday. Domestic tourists made 875 million trips from January to March, up 15.1 percent year-on-year, Shao Qiwei, head of the National Tourism Administration (NTA), said in a statement posted on the NTA’s website.
